CUBookStore.com

The University of Colorado Book Store serves students and faculty as the only on campus retailer. While it is the primary place for students to get their required textbooks it also has an extensive collection of other reading materials, both educational and fictional, an entire clothing department, computer sales and support, various electronics and a plethora of other manufactured goods. The campus Book Store is also a central hub for information and events enabling visitors to get everything they need related activities in and around the school.

The Book Store’s website was a victim of poor planning, no design guidelines to guide future additions and changes, and no clear navigation architecture. I was consulted in the winter of 2005 to evaluate the website by identifying its shortcomings and suggesting solutions. In response to my findings, I was hired to implement those changes and build a more accessible store website.

The redesign began with using the information from the initial analysis to purge the site and create a new site map.
